Harvest Gate is a fresh fruit processing and export company based in Sri Lanka. We bring the island’s tropical harvest to importers, wholesalers and distributors across the world. Our range runs from everyday favourites like banana, papaya and pineapple to fruits that are harder to find, such as mangosteen, rambutan and wood apple. Whatever we ship, we pick it for one reason. It has to be good enough that you would be happy to put your name to it.
Behind every box is a process we take seriously. We buy from farmers we know, grade the fruit by hand, and keep it cool from the moment it is picked until the moment it is loaded. Orders leave us packed to international standards, with phytosanitary certification and the export paperwork you need to clear customs without hold-ups.
Some customers order a single container. Others work with us season after season. Either way, you get consistent grading, volumes you can plan around, and a team that replies when you write. That is the reputation we want to earn with every shipment: sustainably sourced, export certified and trusted by importers worldwide.
Banana
Sri Lanka’s warm, humid weather is kind to bananas, and you can taste it in the fruit. We export dependable Cavendish for volume buyers, along with local varieties that regular customers ask for by name, including Ambul (the tangy sour banana), Kolikuttu and Anamalu. Every hand is selected, graded by size and packed to hold up on a long journey. Available all year round.
Papaya
Our main export papaya is the Red Lady, picked at the colour-break stage so it travels well and ripens beautifully on arrival. Expect firm, even fruit with deep orange flesh that is naturally sweet and high in vitamins A and C. We keep it under a managed cold chain from the field onward, so what you order is what lands on your dock.
Pineapple
Sri Lankan pineapples get plenty of sun, and it comes through in the sweetness. We supply the fragrant Mauritius variety that buyers love, as well as the juicier Kew. Both are graded for size and crown quality, with steady supply through the main season. They sell well on fresh shelves and work just as nicely for juicing.
Guava
Guava is one of those fruits that quietly over-delivers. Ours carry more vitamin C than most citrus, and we pick them firm so they keep their shelf life on the way to you. Choose white or pink-fleshed, both well suited to fresh markets, juice and processing.
We Export More Fruits
Mangosteen
Often called the Queen of Fruits. A thick purple rind protects soft white segments with a clean, sweet and slightly tart taste. Seasonal, and always in demand.
Passion Fruit
Fragrant purple and yellow varieties with a bright, tangy flavour and plenty of vitamin C. A favourite for juices, desserts and concentrates.
Custard Apple
Soft, creamy and mild, with the smooth texture that gives it its name. A premium pick for fresh markets.
Wood Apple
A true Sri Lankan classic, known locally as divul. Its aromatic, tangy pulp is the base for much-loved juices, cordials and specialty drinks.
Soursop
Big, green and spiky on the outside, creamy and citrus-sweet on the inside. Increasingly popular for juices and health-focused products.
Rambutan
Sweet, juicy flesh under a bright red, hairy shell. The Malwana rambutan is a Sri Lankan favourite and a highlight of the mid-year season.
Our Expertise From Processing to Transportation
Good fruit is only as good as the handling behind it. Here is how we protect quality at every step, from the farm to your market.
Sourcing: We work directly with growers we know, who follow good agricultural practices. That gives us fruit we can trace and quality we can repeat, season after season.
Harvesting and selection: Fruit is picked at the right stage of ripeness for where it is going, then hand-sorted so anything below grade never makes it into the box.
Processing and packing: At our facility, produce is washed, graded and packed under clean, food-safe conditions, in cartons built to protect the fruit in transit.
Cold chain: We control temperature from harvest through storage and loading, which locks in freshness and adds days of shelf life.
Certification and paperwork: Every shipment travels with phytosanitary certification and complete export documentation, so customs clearance stays smooth.
Shipping: Refrigerated containers and careful scheduling mean your order arrives fresh, on time and ready to sell.
