Request a QuoteSri Lanka's Living Herbal Heritage
Sri Lanka is home to one of Asia's richest living pharmacopeias. The island's tropical forests, home gardens, and wetland paddies cultivate a remarkable range of edible and medicinal leaves that have formed the backbone of Sri Lankan cuisine and Ayurvedic medicine for millennia.
Harvest Gate works directly with herb farmers and traditional cultivators to source the freshest, most authentic leaves for export. We offer both fresh and dried formats, ensuring year-round availability and consistent quality for South Asian food retailers, herbal supplement manufacturers, and specialty grocery importers globally.
Curry Leaves (Karapincha)
The curry leaf (Murraya koenigii) is the foundation of Sri Lankan cooking — its warm, slightly citrusy aroma is irreplaceable in rice, curries, and sambols. Sri Lankan curry leaves are exported both fresh (for immediate use) and dried (for extended shelf life) to South Asian diaspora markets worldwide.
Available As: Fresh bunches, dried whole leaves, dried powder

Gotukola (Centella asiatica)
Gotukola — Centella asiatica — is Sri Lanka's most celebrated superfood green. Consumed as a fresh salad (malluma) and used extensively in Ayurvedic medicine for cognitive enhancement, wound healing, and anti-ageing, Gotukola is in strong global demand from herbal supplement manufacturers and nutraceutical companies.

Moringa Leaves (Murunga Kola)
Moringa oleifera leaves are recognised globally as one of the most nutrient-dense plant foods available. Rich in vitamins, minerals, and all essential amino acids, Moringa leaf powder has become a global superfood ingredient used in smoothies, health supplements, and functional foods. Sri Lanka's tropical climate produces Moringa year-round with consistently high phytonutrient levels.

Sri Lankan pandan is exported fresh for South Asian and Southeast Asian markets, and as extract for the food flavouring industry.

Mukunuwenna (Alternanthera sessilis)

Lemon Grass (Sera)
Sri Lankan lemon grass offers a clean, bright citrus-herbal aroma. Widely used in teas, culinary applications, and essential oil production. Exported fresh, dried, and as distilled oil.

The betel leaf (Piper betle) holds deep cultural significance across South and Southeast Asia. Exported fresh to diaspora markets in the UK, Canada, and UAE where it is used ceremonially and for its digestive properties.
Our Expertise From Processing to Transportation
Leaves and herbs are highly perishable and require careful post-harvest handling. Harvest Gate has developed specialised processing protocols for fresh leaf exports — including rapid cooling, moisture management, and MAP packaging — to maximise shelf life during transit.
For dried leaf products, we operate controlled drying facilities that preserve colour, aroma, and active phytonutrients. All dried products are packed in food-grade, moisture-proof packaging with lot traceability and a certificate of analysis for each batch.
